Skydiver, thanks so much for taking the time to provide such an insightful response. You hit on some very good key points.
As far as his correlation to kids and video games, in my mind I liken it to the firearms debate. i.e., there are hundreds of millions of firearms and owners in the U.S., but only a small fraction of those are used in violent crimes. Just like there are hundreds of millions of people that play violent video games, but only a handful are actually violent individuals.
I do like the work that Lt Col Grossman has put forth, though I did not like on killing as much, and afterwards read a dissenting opinion of his work. I'll provide the link below if you're interested. I just want to full understand all facets of this topic, and there is some question as to his validity of studies. I do believe that most of the physiological studies from "On Combat" seem validated and logical, but some of his psychological or military references from SLA Marshall have come into question.
Either way, I congratulate you on further becoming a student of the warrior mindset, and I appreciate your contribution to this forum.
